Dog Sprinklers
You used to enjoy coming home to your dog but
now you dread the moment you step through the door. It isn't that
you don't love your canine companion, but you just can't handle
the puddle the pooch makes when it excitedly greets you. Excitement
and submissive urination can occur in any aged pet but most commonly
seen in pups one to seven months of age.
Excitement and submissive urination can occur in any aged pet.
The answer to this dribbling declaration can require patience,
and a good floor cleaner. When you return from being gone, avoid
the temptation to greet your dog with lots of enthusiasm. When guests
come to visit, suggest that they speak in hushed tones or better
yet, ignore the dog until it realizes that the person is there to
see you and not them. Saying your salutations outside until the
pup has gained some self-control can make the mistakes easier to
clean up.
Training your dog to sit and stay can also be of assistance in
curbing this wetting. Instruct your dog to sit before it is allowed
to eat, go outside to play or take a walk. This causes it to catch
its breath and relax a moment before it doing what it
wants to.
It is our responsibility to instill the behaviors we want in our
pets.
There are other reasons why your dog may eliminate in the house.
If it was never fully housebroken, it may find that after an extended
period of soiling in the house, that it is a lot easier to just
go in a corner than asking to go outside. It is tough to admit,
but the source of the problem in this case is you. It is our responsibility
as pet owners to instill the behaviors that we want in our pets.
A pet should not soil where its living. At times of illness,
they cant always control their elimination behaviors. If you
are not sure why your pet is messing in the house, see your veterinarian
to rule out medical conditions. And this is important, because it
is Your Pet
Health Matters.
