Holidays May be More Trick than Treat for Your Pet
Pets are now, more than ever, a part of our families. They are
included in our celebrations and holidays. But those same occasions
may be stress filled rather than fun filled for your pet.
Your cat or dog typically enjoys the au natural sensation of wearing
only its' fur coat and collar. What makes us think that dressing
them up like batman or a ballerina is fun for them?
Some pets are very gregarious and relish socializing with humans
but when surrounded by sugar-frenzied children in Star Wars costumes,
even the most well balanced pet may bite or scratch.
Holidays are also a time of special foods and treats. Candy, especially
chocolate, can be toxic, even in small amounts.
Festive decorations also pose a potential hazard to our family
animals. Candles, electrical cords, and items that could tip over
and injure your pet should be kept at a safe distance.
Let's be sure that holidays are filled with happiness and fond
memories for all members of your family. Take the extra precautions
to safeguard the furry ones because it is "Your Pet
Health
Matters."
