We have all heard of those crazy people who buy their little poodles four poster beds and feed their cats out of crystal bowls but you aren't that bad…or are you? A recent survey by the American Animal Hospital Association found that there are more pet-aholics than was ever imagined.

When was the last time you went to see your doctor? Pet owners states they see their veterinarian 67% more often than their own doctors. If their pet is ill, they tend to take 1 to 2 days off of work to tend to the needs of their ailing animals.

Ask your pet loving friends to open their wallets. Don't be surprised if you find a picture or two of their prized pooch. And how do 84% of these pet caregivers refer to themselves? You're right…mom and dad.

Pets have truly become a part of the family. We include them in our holidays. We give them gifts. We provide for them in our wills. Pets give us unconditional love and understanding. We need to give them proper care and nutrition. Why? Because it is "Your Pet…Health Matters."
