Veterinary Medicine
New Approaches to Total Health.
Alternatives to traditional Western medicine have become so common
that we hardly think of them as alternatives any longer. The benefits
of using aloe on irritated skin or herbal supplements for mild depression
are widely known. Can your pet benefit from holistic therapies as
well? It is certainly worth a try.
Some of the alternatives successfully being used with pets include
flower essences for anxiety and other emotional upsets, magnets
for arthritis pain, Aloe Vera juice for teething puppies and products
that contain pheromones to eliminate urine spraying in cats.
Even though many alternative treatments have a wide margin of
safety, it is best to discuss new therapies with your veterinarian
before trying them. It is very important that you don't discontinue
any current treatment your pet is receiving without consulting your
veterinarian first.
Contact your local or state veterinary association for a list
of doctors who incorporate holistic medicine in to their practices.
