$11 Billion Pet:
Would you pay $11 billion on your pet?
The American public spent $11 billion on veterinary care in 1996.
Why are Americans so in love with their pets? A recent Gallop Poll
survey discovered that three out of four pet owners consider their
pets to be part of the family. Many people said their pets were
one of the most important things in their lives.
Studies have shown the correlation of pet ownership to improved
health, mentally as well as physically. Where else can we get that
unconditional love that nudges us out of bed in the morning to go
for a walk that we would not have taken otherwise? Pets can help
to reduce blood pressure, prevent depression and obesity. Owning
pet is not a cure all, but it sure is a welcome aid to feeling better.
To help insure your pet's health, a yearly physical exam is recommended.
And it won't cost $11 billion .
