Retaining a Dog's Manliness:
Neutering a male dog has many benefits, but pet owners are often
hesitant to have this surgery performed. Fears that the pet will
gain weight or become lazy as the result of surgery have been shown
not to be true. Concerns over changes in their pet's physical appearance
have also been cited. Studies have shown that aging male dogs are
prone to many of the same medical problems as their human counterparts.
Now silicon implants are available in a variety of sizes that
can be implanted at the time of the surgery. According to the manufacturer,
they are safe and life-like, will not flake or leak and have the
texture of gummie bears. After the surgery, only your veterinarian
will know for sure.
