You get that notice in the mail, your pet is due
for its' annual vaccine, but does it really need them? New evidence
says, maybe not.
Yearly vaccines for your cat and dog have been
the standard way in which pet owners have helped to reduce the risk
of sickness and death die to infectious preventable diseases. Controversy
over the duration of vaccine protection has raged for years in the
scientific community.
In a recent report by the American Animal Hospital Association,
it states that the consensus among immunology and infectious disease
experts is that annual vaccines boosters are neither necessary or
advisable.
Your pet still needs vaccines but which ones and how often depends
on your let's lifestyle and risk analysis. The most important way
in which you can help safeguard your pet's health is with yearly
veterinary examinations. Discuss your concerns with your doctor.
